Because our adventure weddings in Iceland begin early… We like to do the first look before we head out! Devin adored Crystal in her dress!
These two and their guests were so badass! They didn’t care that it was raining, windy, or that they needed to cross some glacier rivers either!

…an adventure wedding in Iceland wouldn’t be complete without a traditional BBQ of hot dogs and all their toppings!
Crystal and Devin ventured to some beautiful secret waterfalls throughout their Iceland wedding day too!
Then it was like they beamed themselves to MARS!
Crystal + Devin felt a special pull to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach. Normally we do not adventure to tourist locations but we made an exception for the dreaminess below!
As the sun set, the adventure drew to a close and we retreated back to Hotel Ranga in Hella Iceland for their intimate wedding reception!
As unpredictable as Iceland can be, we tried to launch wish lanterns but sadly the wind one, so we switched to sparklers for their send off!

Adventurous Elopement in Finland: Part 2

Lapland is such an memorable experience in winter! The trees are buckling with snow, the Northern Lights are dancing, and the warmth of the houses you cuddle up in is blazing! Hopefully last week you delighted in the first half of Kavoos ad Diana’s beautiful elopement at Kakslauttanen Igloo Resort (the famed igloo hotel). If not, go back HERE to see.
Picking right up where we left off… Next up on the adventure wedding agenda was a dog sledding safari! These two braved the temps to go out for a hardcore epic dog sled adventure through the Finnish forests. Afterwards, they cuddled up in front of the fire, shared some champagne and kisses!
After the warm up break we took another polar nights adventure through the snow for more Lapland elopement photos! Oh so dreamy and romantic! Shortly after they delighted in a perfectly styled dinner for two which also held an adventure theme throughout. Kavoos and Diana also enjoyed a traditional Lappish meal which was delicious!
As nighttime continued and grew deeper, we went out to hunt more Northern Lights via reindeer! Instead we found a snowstorm, but it was still just as dreamy! Savor their uber romantic Finland wedding (elopement) portraits below!

Lapland Wedding: Kavoos + Diana (Part 1)

Kavoos and Diana, had the burning desire to hold an adventurous elopement in Lapland! Which is quite brave considering they are California natives and during winter northern Finland is well below freezing. But sometimes a location and the opportunity to see Northern Lights is all it takes to muster up courage to have an epically snowy incredible experience!
During the months of December and January, Lapland is in full swing of “polar nights,” which means the sun doesn’t actually rise and the “blue light” daylight hours are between 1-2 hours a day. Our adventure wedding planning team, crafted an epic adventure wedding day at the Kakslauttanen Igloo Resort (the famed igloo hotel).
But! Since there adventurous elopement in Lapland was so BEAUTIFUL… we need break it into 2 blog posts! So today we will share with you their stunning ceremony and first half of their adventure wedding. Then stay tuned next week for the second and most adventurous half (hello dog sledding, styled reception for two, and reindeer Northern Lights hunting!).

The Polar Nights in Lapland are an amazing sight! although the sun doesn’t not rise, if it’s clear, you get a “mock”sunrise like this during the beginning of January! So dream for your Finnish elopement!

The land offers an incredible amount of variety in options for an adventure wedding. Lofoten Islands Wedding Adventure in Norway

Meeting Davíð Geir Jónasson, changed the course of my life forever.
Do you remember how we met? In that moment, as clique as I know it sounds, I knew my life wouldn’t be the same again. Seriously, in all of the millions of people I have met, never have I ever met someone like Davíð. He looks at me the way all women want (and deserves) to be looked at by a partner. I’ve never laughed harder, never travelled farther around the world with anyone and still left smiling by the end of it. To put it raw and frankly, I’m addicted to him. His energy, book to street smarts, risky wit, infinite positivity and the way he brings out the best in everyone he encounters. He adventures at the same level as me (some might even say higher and I might agree).
So where does an Adventure Wedding Planner / Photographer and a Filmmaker get married? Well… We eloped in the Lofoten Islands (Northern Norway). Have you ever heard of these islands before? If not, go HERE and read up on them!

To have an adventure wedding, you have to be a certain kind of couple… Comes with them are usually endless amounts of curiosity, lots of love, good stories, and vibe that resonates with me the entire year. My soul feeds off of their love, their moments, and their adventure keeps me high on adrenaline for days. I love what I do and I’m passionate about planning and photographing adventure weddings.
We’re lucky to always seem to connect with those kind of adventurous folks and 2016 was a year full of them!
