Lapland Wedding: Kavoos + Diana (Part 1)

Kavoos and Diana, had the burning desire to hold an adventurous elopement in Lapland! Which is quite brave considering they are California natives and during winter northern Finland is well below freezing. But sometimes a location and the opportunity to see Northern Lights is all it takes to muster up courage to have an epically snowy incredible experience!
During the months of December and January, Lapland is in full swing of “polar nights,” which means the sun doesn’t actually rise and the “blue light” daylight hours are between 1-2 hours a day. Our adventure wedding planning team, crafted an epic adventure wedding day at the Kakslauttanen Igloo Resort (the famed igloo hotel).
But! Since there adventurous elopement in Lapland was so BEAUTIFUL… we need break it into 2 blog posts! So today we will share with you their stunning ceremony and first half of their adventure wedding. Then stay tuned next week for the second and most adventurous half (hello dog sledding, styled reception for two, and reindeer Northern Lights hunting!).

Kakslauttanen Igloo Resort offers a uniquely beautiful experience in the Kelo-Glass Igloo Cabins! Imagine waking up in one of these for our adventurous wedding in Finland! Kavoos and Diana did during their elopement adventure in Lapland and savored every second of it!
The Polar Nights in Lapland are an amazing sight! although the sun doesn’t not rise, if it’s clear, you get a “mock”sunrise like this during the beginning of January! So dream for your Finnish elopement!

Iceland Weddings always hold a special place in my heart. It’s not just because I call this amazing place home either! The land offers an incredible amount of variety in options for an adventure wedding. Norway Elopement Photographer: Danielle + Shea’s Adventure Wedding (Part 2)

Coming all of the way from Australia, Shea and Danielle desired to have an elopement unlike anyone else’s. Good thing they came to us! Norway Elopement at the Dalen Fairytale Hotel (Part 1)

When two extremely adventurous people meet while out on a daring expedition, only good things come from it. Consequences of such meetings usually include endless laughs, incredible moments in time, and smiles that make your cheeks hurt. And if you’re tremendously lucky, you walk away with a new forever friend. Fortunately, in the story of Danielle and Shea not only are all the above true, but they also found their soulmates in each other. These two met while hiking in Nepal. Seriously! …and they both just happened to be living in the same area of Australia! Mean to be, right?!
So naturally after they had more journeys exploring the world together, they were searching for astounding elopement locations and a way to elope that would be very different than the typical avenues. Danielle and Shea first reached out to us inquiring about an elopement in Iceland on Iceland Wedding Planner. Shortly after we met on Skype and seeing we own Your Adventure Wedding, they were hooked on the adventure wedding concept we provide. Torn between having a wedding in Iceland or Norway was tough but in the end, Norway won. They fell in love with the Dalen Fairytale Hotel option we created for their elopement in Norway.
Have you ever seen or been to the Dalen Fairytale Hotel? It’s one of the oldest, fanciest, charming, and most notable hotels in Norway. A place where Kings and Queens choose to stay at frequently. The first time I visited years ago and pulled up to the front of the hotel I immediately felt like I was walking into a storybook. As you’ll see from the Norway wedding photos below, it’s a very vivid and intoxicating place that sits along the historic Telemark Canal fjord.
There are too many beautiful images I want to share with you from their 10+ locations we ventured to throughout their adventure wedding in Norway, so you’ll be happy to know I’m splitting their fabulous day into 2 posts. This week we will feature all the awesomeness we created in and around the Dalen Hotel, their Stave Church Norway wedding ceremony and a another secret spot.
