When you’re a couple who holds Travel and Adventure as a core piece of your relationship, where in the world do you turn to get married?  I often get asked this question, by couples worldwide hoping to step up their game on their wedding day.  My fellow avid travelers and adventure seekers, fear not!  This is exactly why Your Adventure Wedding‘s mission began and is in full force.

So where are the most offbeat and unique destination wedding locations hiding?

My direct answer varies depending on your adventure level. …and by adventure level I mean like a scale of 1 to 10, where are you on your wedding day and in your wedding day attire?

• 1 = If it rains keep me inside, please!
• 5 = If the super jeep or heli can get us within a 15 minute hike to the location, perfect!
• 10 = 2+ hour hike rain or shine, heck yea!  Let’s do it! …the wedding dress is going in the backpack ❤

1.) Patagonia – Torres del Paine National Park (Chile)

Torres del Paine National Park in Patagonia, is where the mysterious and intriguing “W” trek of the Andes mountains live and breathe.  This area also has numerous lakes, glaciers, granite towers, caves, wildlife (Guanacos, Ostriches, Flamingos, Pumas, Foxes, Armadillo, and Condors flying around) endless mountain views, and so many unique experiences to be had!

2.) Vestmannaeyjar Islands (Iceland)

As I’m sure you’ve seen, Iceland is an amazing location to hold your destination wedding, but have you ever considered the islands off of Iceland?  The Vestmannaeyjar Islands are comprised of 15 Archipelago Islands that were all born from eruptions.  Which means the islands feature sharp and interesting cliff-lines, basalt rock formations, the famed “elephant rock,” quaint fishing villages, and a gorgeous Stave (wooden) Church!

3.) Faroe Islands (Denmark)

What other place has more grass covered houses than anywhere in the world, more sheep than people, jagged cliff edges that will get your heart pumping, hikes that are self-finding, a serenity that you thought only exists in your mind, majestic waterfalls, and a place that still offers a deep and rich culture that mixes the best of the best Nordic worlds of Denmark and Iceland?!  Nowhere, Natta, No place but the magnificent… Faroe Islands!  I might even dare to say parts of it made me feel like I was exploring Narnia!

4.) Lofton Islands (Norway)

The Lofoten Islands is a place where heaven and earth meet!  What better place to hold an enticing elopement or intimate Norway wedding adventure than on the top of a mountain with stunning fjords behind?!  During your wedding day in Norway’s Lofoten Islands, (once you pick up your jaw off the ground) you’ll become one with the sea and the mountains!

5.) Ushuaia, Argentina (the most Southern city in the world)

For you adventure seekers that love to hike and explore, there are endless options for you in Ushuaia!  There are short 30 minute to longer 2+ hour hikes within the Tierra del Fuego National Park that will allow you to experience the most Southern tip of the Andes Mountains and the famed Beagle Channel. …plus several stunning secret spots!

6.) Madagascar (Africa)

Madagascar is a magical island off of the coast of Africa. There you’ll find the famed Isalo National Park, unforgettable mountains, wild adventures, hikes, waterfalls, crystal clear blue-green water, unique tree’s, plants and animals you have never seen before.  It’s the essence of an adventure wedding location, undiscovered!  Be one of the first couples to hold your unforgettable destination wedding in Madagascar, I dare you!

7.) Morocco (Africa)

Morocco is one of my favorite countries because it houses the highest peak in Africa named, Toubakal which stands higher than 13,000 feet!  Would you dare to wed at the top?  We’d be right there with you photographing!  Oh so, many options to choose from like the Mediterranean Coast, the Sahara Desert. Draa Valley, the Rif & Atlas Mountains, and our endless secret locations!

8.) The Baltic Countries

There are 3 gorgeous hidden gems of states tucked within the beautiful Baltic Sea. Estonia!  Latvia!  Lithuania!  All should be on your adventure wedding list, because they are full of rich culture, eco-friendly, one of the world’s greenest countries, has an endless list of romantic adventures for couples, beautiful pristine beaches, it’s also a country filled with art, wooden architecture, castles and manor houses!

9.) Peru (South America)

The Peruvian culture is vivid, rich in tradition, and one of the friendliest I have encountered throughout my  worldwide travels.  The country is full of ancient ruins, the Amazon River, marvelous Andes mountains, and countless adrenaline junkie sports just waiting for you to partake in!

10.) Illulisat, Greenland (Denmark)

This Nordic wedding location is for couples who are truly fearless explorers at heart, cold weather lovers, and have an unquenchable curiosity!  Is this you?  If so, you can look forward to having a destination wedding or romantic elopement in one of the most mysterious places in the world (it’s been said to be in the top 10)!  Plus what adventurous wedding couple wouldn’t want to arrive to their Greenland wedding ceremony by dogsled?  Then partake in Greenland wedding adventures (or honeymoon) such as mountaineering, heliskiing, iceberg hunting, scuba diving, whale watching, and even flight seeing over the vast tundras!
